We pride ourselves on bringing your an enjoyable, realistic, and accurate experience to play or practice your golf game. Taking note of these common questions/mistakes below will ensure you get the best experience!
Placement of ball on the mat
-Ball should be placed on the front half of the mat.
- Ball should be placed as close to the center (left and right) as possible.
- You will sometimes need to move the ball around a little to get the Falcon to lock on to it.
- The Falcon will lock on to the ball best if you step back from the ball and do not have your club next to it.
- Do not have multiple balls or tees on the mat as this can cause the Falcon to not know which to lock on to.
Direction to hit the ball
ALWAYS hit the ball straight (in relation to the mat). The Falcon reads ball flight in relation to the mat (not by where the ball hits the screen).
Example: If you line up the ball on the left side of the mat, you need to hit the ball straight in to the left side of the screen. If you aim back towards the middle of the screen, then the ball in the game will go to the right.
How to aim on the game
ALWAYS use the computer to adjust your aim. Do not adjust your aim by where you hit the ball in to the screen. If you click the mouse anywhere on the screen or the mini map in GSPro, it will adjust your aim.
Aiming with Putting
Putting is performed the same way. Aim with the computer and then hit a straight putt from the mat.
Rough/Sand/Bad Lie effect
Any lies that have a negative impact on your ball are going to perform realistic to real life. There will be a certain amount of ball speed and spin taken off of your shot (determined by the game and lie, and will be shown to you on the left side of the screen AFTER the shot). Take this in to consideration on what clubs you choose to hit, and how hard you hit the shots.
Ghost Readings
The Falcon launch monitors use high speed cameras to capture all motion. There are instances sometimes (randomly) where if you take a practice swing in the general area of the ball, the Falcon will register a ghost shot. This happens because the club passes through the cameras, unlocks the Falcon from the ball, and it sometimes thinks that the ball was hit. For this reason, we suggest taking any practice swings away from the ball. You can also play your friendly rounds with mulligans turned on, so if you run in to this you can just reset the shot with a mulligan.
